Lync Windows Store app sign-in issues
We’re sorry you’re having trouble signing in to the Lync Windows Store app. Here are answers to some common sign-in questions.
How do I sign in to the Lync Windows Store app?
You need a sign-in address and password from an organization that uses Lync Server, or has a business subscription to Office 365. If you’re already using Lync on your desktop, then you have a Lync account.
How do I reset my password?
If you forgot your password, or it doesn’t work anymore, contact your workplace technical support—typically the person who set up your Lync account for you. Provide them with these links:

What’s the format of my sign-in address and user name?
Your sign-in address looks like this: user@domain.com.
You may be asked for both a user name and a sign-in address. The user name is what you use to sign in to your organization’s network, either user@domain.com or domain\username.
How do I update my device’s date and time?
-
Go to a web site that shows Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
-
Go to Setting > PC Settings > Time and Language.
-
Note your UTC offset, and compare your device’s time to that shown on the website.
If you need to update your device’s time:
-
Turn off Set time automatically and tap Change.
-
Update the time and tap Change.
-
Try signing in again.
I can sign in to Lync on other devices, but can’t I sign in using Lync Windows Store app

Lync keeps asking me to sign in after I’ve already signed in
When you first sign in to Lync, you might be asked to enter your sign-in credentials up to three times as Lync tries to connect to your calendar and other online services.
Important The credentials for your calendar and other services could be different from those for Lync.
Even if the issue is resolved, notify your technical support team so they can help prevent this from happening again.
Lync doesn’t remember my sign-in credentials
To have Lync remember your user name and password, select the Remember my credentials check box when signing in. On a device with a touchscreen, the onscreen keyboard used to enter your user name and password might be covering the check box. If you don’t see the check box, scroll up in the dialog box.
Lync tries to sign in for longer than five minutes, but it never succeeds and never shows an error
Tap Cancel to stop the current sign in attempt, and then tap Sign in to start again.
If the same problem occurs again, tap Cancel, tap Delete my sign-in info, re-enter your credentials, and then sign in again.
I can’t sign in after I installed the update
If you’re not able to sign in after you install an update for Lync Windows Store app, select Delete my sign-in info on the sign-in page, then type your credentials and try signing in again.
